Austen Mayo (Los Angeles) and Chris Lendrum (Jacksonville), better known as smalltalk, hail from opposite coasts of the US and have spent the last decade collaborating and releasing music together. Rooted in a deep love for the underground scene, they've drawn inspiration over the years from forward-thinking club culture and experimental electronic music. Both Austen and Chris found their passion as DJs first, which heavily influenced their love for multi-genre production.

Their catalog spans releases on Bassrush, Qualia, Monta, Drama Club, Fuxwithit, and others — a run that's tracked a steady climb in their fanbase and listeners. That progression has carried into their live sets, with recent stops at Black Box in Denver and Good Society in Los Angeles marking a growing footprint in the scene. Looking ahead, smalltalk has new music in the pipeline for 2026 and 2027, bringing a new style to the electronic space.
